Hiyono is Ayumu's complement. She has the courage and spontaneity to follow through where he might lose faith in himself.

The long night. Really a beautifully orchestrated scene. Hiyono's song. Like an anchor when everyone else is wandering lost.
Everyone returns in street clothes... a visual shift to match the one in attitude and situation. Only Hiyono remains unchanged in both.
Kyousuke's relaxed manner, pushed aside by Hoyono's logic... "You can't survive if you won't fight your fate."
Eyes. So lost within himself that he doesn't dare to dream of escape. Yet allowing hiself to care for his compatriots.
Even Madoka has changed. She is finding her path, but she has to be just a bit lost in the process. Kiyotaka seems to have left that legacy for everyone.
Ayumu is not perfect in and of himself.. Alone he would wallow in pain. With Hiyono and Madoka, he is forced to pull himself up and fight.

Beautiful. Confident. Ayumu is back... and stronger.
Damn... boys should not look that good in explosive devices... even if it is a collar.
The game is complex. Like chess. Each player reading ahead of the other, neither knowing for sure how many steps ahead or behind the other is.

Where will Eyes figure in all of this? Just angst and iris? So far, the butterfly is Madoka. The iris seems closest to Eyes, but perhaps is all the Blade Children. And why is it the 7th rib? What meaning does that have?
Oh, clever Ayumu. Very clever, but Rio is far from stupid and even Kyousuke may have tricks left up his sleeve. One step ahead so far... but still the problem of the collar.
"The power of belief can change fate."
Why does only Eyes show physical proof of the curse? Why is he the only one to refer to Kiyotaka without any honorific? I know what I want to think... *stopps train of thought.
And in the final moments, the Wow... Ayumu... Kat, I think I agree with you on the life-or-death situations... ^_^
11 - 2:50 AM
Ah... now we see where Eyes stands in all this...
Ayumu, dear, never trust an angsting Ishida Akira character. Especially not one as pretty as Eyes.
Aww. Exposition and fluff all in one episode. How much better can life get?
Ahm yes, there could be Eyes in skin-tight black... and pretty music and a Kiyotaka flashback... that might work. ^_^
What? Nothing to believe in ... *flashback* ... anymore? Bishonen who refers to Eyes without honorifics? *blink* Gah! The Subtext! It burns!
And now it is past 3 AM. Playlists on video files are dangerous... ^_^ Ah how I love this show.
Bishonen: Kanon and Eyes (cheated and read the credits to find out that it was Kanon)
