Second and third time through 'Scandal in Belgravia' and having read the updates to John's blog I need to process more of this. It puts a lot of follow-up fics out of service of course. "The Dealt Hand/Ten Gunmen", and "There And Back Again" most notably. "Major Pieces" too, if I remember, but it's been a while since I listened to that too.
It doesn't entirely crush the Paradox Suite, leaves it quite possible actually with the whole implication from the new episode that John and Mycroft have a protocol in place to prevent Sherlock killing himself on a drugs binge. And that Sherlock knows it. It was strange to me to read the write up for "Geek Interpreter" with the name Kratades being use there, as it had also been used in ... Paradox Suite? Entirely Covered, maybe. The man who slashed open Sherlock's leg. Though, since they dressed up as Ninjas and then "dissapeared" maybe it could have been the same situation.

Other rants of the moment:
1) Saw X-Men: First Class tonight, and I ship Charles/Erik LIKE BURNING, I want the porn of it nao. PLZKTHX.
2) Found the Sherlock Holmes Kink Meme tonight. And seriously... fandom, I love you so. <3 Among other things, I now have the term "Frycroft" in my database of useful words.
3) Relating to the above, watching the new Sherlock Holmes movie and Belgravia has been horribly difficult without squeeing like mad about the slashy bits. I will end up disowned by my two best friends by the end of the year, either because of this or 1 or because:
4) I have this 'I ship Tony/Steve' problem where in watching the Avengers movie (and Iron Man, and Captain America, etc.) will be tragically painful with K and J involved. I blame Reena_Jenkins entirely for this, because of her fantastic readings of "Ready, Fire, Aim" and "Situation Normal: All Fucked Up"

Now sleep. Or probably more meme. Damnit. Good night internet.

So, Happy Christmas, Merry Chanukah, and Joyous Non-denominational Holi-brations of all kinds. I've been working on a post for a while, so this may ramble.

First, we saw Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows on opening night. It was absolutely lovely. cut for spoilers )

Then I finished Assassin's Creed Revelations this week.... Spoilers for Ending and Meta-Game Rants )
In closing, next game please let me stab William in the face. I refuse to trust Discord/Q/John DeLance.
Love, Maya

It's been a while. Partially because my play slowed down, and then stopped for a while because of freezing problems. Partially because I was letting other people use the TV for things (Skyrim). So in the last couple days I advanced the plot a bit, 100% synced on Sequence 5, filled all my Mediterranean cities with Assassins (mostly level 10), and only crashed the game three times. Not even with the same bug. Just with other random shit. Anyway.

Now we're on the way to midnight showing of Sherlock Holmes. I'm hoping it will be amazing. Yay!

What feels like a million years ago I was really excited about the BeatRockLove movie. Which basically was half of original Rikkai plus Araki are in a high school JRock band with a non-tenimyu lead singer...

So now years and years later I found a torrent somewhere and am giving it a watch.
What? It's my day off, I can slack if I want. )

I wish there were more songs. I mean... there were two songs in Ai no Kotodama and he wasn't even a singer. Ooh.... maybe I'll put that on. I should watch a drama I haven't seen before but... meh.

In any case, a day or two later, my torrents for something very very shiny finished:
BBC Sherlock - Episode One )

In poking at my PS3 video stash, I decided (after two episodes of Maoh) to watch "Doukyuusei". If I thought "Taiikukan Baby" was depressing.... man was I not prepared for this. Both are very serious stories and very much better made than some of the BL movies I've seen. "Doukyuusei" isn't BL at all actually, but it's some of the same characters in two different versions of the same period of time... so, I feel like it was enough involved with "Taiikukan Baby" to count under the same production values.

Anyway,
Progress:
-Yellow Upper body interfaced
-Yellow neck band on
-Channels made to attach to lining of the Yellow (will go on by hand)
-Tomomori neck fasteners made and put on

Is the con really only two days away? ;_; I'm doomed.

Anyway. Sleep for a few hours now. Then go get Jess from the sleep study place and then run some laundry and work more on Kiyomori until it's time to go in to work for truck. THEN come back and close. And make things look pretty for The Boss. I hope. Why do I agree to these things? Seriously!

Post NDK, I need a serious icon overhaul. My current collection is just not really conducive to my current interests and moods.

To all those (probably not directed at me anyway) comments that are in my email and flist about Midsummers: I'm sorry but I can't. I won't. The end.

Worked 13 hours today. Came home. Made an obi for Masaomi. Folded up Masaomi's kimono and obi and shirt and got them into his furoshiki (pics were taken too, coming soon). I cut out the purple for the jacket! This is a huge step. Next is the gold, then interfacing, then lining and binding. I played with the material for the pants a bit, but didn't do anything with it.

While all that was getting accomplished, we watched "The Other Boleyn Girl". Actually quite an awesome movie. With pretty under-appreciated Jim Sturgess too. ^__^

Tomorrow is truck, then craziness, then home. I want to go work out tomorrow night too, since I'm already feeling like it. Wednesday I get off early to go to the doctor, so get the whole afternoon and evening to myself and Masaomi. Then overnight thursday to friday for the HD rotation. Which ... hopefully... will not suck. Hopefully.

I finished watching //a//symmetry.
Stupid Japan. Let your damn gay boys be happy once in a while, would you? It was actually quality acting and production though.
Damn pretty gay doctor Araki... I think I'll probably watch the movie a few more times in the future.

Made it through truck. Spent the whole morning moving rediculous amount of Coke products around the backroom.

Now it's time to go to rehersal at CSU... but I am so tired. I mean, I was falling asleep on hold with SOS this afternoon... anyway.... I'm off. Hopefully I can be useful somehow.

Have now watched through episode 5 of project runway. I meant to stop after 4 but OMG DRAGQUEENS!! I want to shop for fabric in New York /so/ badly... I mean... o.o *dies*

Anyway.
Have also watched one and two of Ryuusei no Kizuna. Not in love with it. It doesn't seem to know where it's going - half cosplay fantasy and half actual murder and revenge story. But it's fun and pretty and not making me cry or stress out over every episode (which /can/ be a good thing, but is nice to take a rest from).

There was also "Across the Universe" tonight. I love that movie so much. It's beautiful.

Now to sleep and then work for way too long. Another nice paycheck coming my way next week, I guess. I just need to get my spending back under control and maybe I can start saving up money to try to get to Japan.

I feel like posting a list of stuff I did... because it feels like nothing.

-started assembly on Saku's under-kimono. This is also serving as a test for how my new pattern will work. It took me a lot of poking through the book to find the details on facings and the center back that I was unsure of, so I didn't get as far as I'd have liked. This layer is unlined, so I have to tack all the facings by hand. Got through one of the wrists before bedtime hit. Fun fun fun.
-saw Iron Man. Jess said "/That/ is how a cyberkinetic makes himself useful in battle". I was thoroughly pleased.
-Watched the Rookies on TFP2. I love that show, even when it's pretty boys that I don't know. Fancy that.
-Watched Shukudai-kun 94. So much love for girls who hit on Sho and the new AiLand game. Fabulous.
-Finished Bara no Nai Hanaya.
-Officially giving up on Atsuhime. 31 episodes and I've only seen 4? That's a /lot/ of catching up to do with very little incentive unless the plot hooks me. I might go back and try watching Yoshitsune instead. >.>
-Did not go in to work. At all. *proud*

However, work in 6 hours. I /knew/ I shouldn't have slept so late. Dangit.

Kagetoki's applique is finished. I overlocked the edges of all three panels tonight, which made me feel a lot better about them in general. Tomorrow I'll put the outside of the coat together and cut out lining. The bindings are going to be hard, But I think I have plans that will work. Note: remember that I need gold thread. Probably rayon?

I also cut Saku's scarves tonight. Bonus points for anyone who understands why I was going 'ah~ Natsukashii' while sitting under 6.667 yards of narrow chiffon scarves.

Will be ordering Madeira polyneon for Benkei and potentially a silver for Saku. I'mnot sure how much hand-work will go into her costume, but I have plans right now (for the aforementioned scarves, among other things). Her brother takes precidence, of course. Hopefully by tomorrow night (I'm off all day) he'll have a completed coat and obi-thing. That will leave just shirt, gloves, boots, armor, wig and rifle. Plus cording and ball-things. But the last isn't technically my responsibility. ^_^

I'm thinking we should watch more Gankutsuou tomorrow, even though I'd rather start Darker than Black.

Also, I'm not allowed to go in to work tomorrow, but I might anyway. Just a little.
Should also do my taxes. >.> *twiddles thumbs*

It took 8 stores before we found a copy of Across the Universe to buy tonight (6 Jess did alone on her way home, 2 we did after dinner). But we have it now and this makes me very happy. It's such an awesome movie. I notice more and more about it every time.

EDIT: OMGWTFBBQ! Aiba, Masa and..... SekiTomo!? Oh fandom, what are you /doing/ to me? Also, Kawai, Hijiri and a pile of girls that I don't recognize. <3

Lessons Learned for today:
Kneecaps are important for the terrorism.
A distinct accent or country of origin are not.

Valuable lessons in those 'Die Hard' movies. Yep.

Work was work-y.
My brain is full of Yagyuu and Nious of various types. (I blame [personal profile] reposoir and [profile] ladyofthegate for the Nious. Really.)

We saw "Across the Universe" at the cheap theater tonight. I had all manner of complex commentaries and reference lists to think about... but I'm tired and fluffy and need sleep.

Anyone who hasn't seen this movie, I definitely think it's worth it. ^_^

ETA: I am concerned by the fact that one of the new songs on the SanaYuki Best Actors album is called '初恋'... almost disturbed in fact.
