This of course, reminds me that I should talk a little about what I've been doing...
The last couple of days (especially yesterday, which was my last day off before Packing Day (Wed)), I've made lots of progress on the armor bits. I had foam-skinned the gauntlets much earlier, but didn't attach the velcro until last night, so they're done now.
Yesterday was a lot of armor stuff. We took a hacksaw to the easter egg on thursday night, and so Friday I covered that with the gold mystique (sparkly swim&dance knit) and made foam flanges to extend it.
Today I spray-painted the gems that will be the texture, and tomorrow they'll get painted gold (they're chrome silver for now to cover the vaired colors).
I got the strips of foam for the arms cut last night and Jess got them painted a lovely silver today while I was at work.
We also got the balls all gloss-sealed today so I'd call them done and ready for the cord.
Jess has spent much of the day sanding and painting and resanding and repainting the gun. It's going to look fabulous and I'm really excited to be doing a weapon for the first time. I have plans to improve Benkei's naginata if I get a chance in the next few days. (Dremmel tool with blade - better blade shape and repainting=better color)
Now, to sleep a bit before I have to be in at 6 for the HD rotation. Yay~ Excited~!
No really. New rotations are like... the highlight of my year. Yes. I'm a nerd.
