Brain: Awake!
Me: Awake! Awake! What time...? 6 AM?
Brain: You can't breathe, your throat hurts and your hip is uncomfortable.
Me: Ok, ok. *shifts around* Better? Sleep now?
Brain: No. Remember why you used to sleep at a 45-degree angle?
Me: Post-nasal drip suffocating me in my sleep?
Brain: Yep. Care to fix this?
Me: Ok... fine. Drugs. Drugs are good.
Brain: Well, that's better. You should stay up now, though.
Me: But, last night you said I should stay up 'till midnight!
Brain: Ah, so I did. Well, all right. Sleep then.
Me: But only 'till 8, right? I need a shower.
Brain: Of course, of course.
...
Kat: Maya, it's 8:45.
Me/Brain: Gah!
So then I showered, and we were rather late getting out of the seminar house...

And then there was The Test this morning. Right before it, Shikaura-sensei told everyone about Taryn... and said that she had come here to study Japanese, and now that she couldn't anymore, we should all try our best for her sake, because that was what she would want. Somehow, I was closer to tears hearing her talk about it than I was at any point yesterday.
Then we all took the test, and it wasn't too bad. Now there's just the Reading and Writing test tommorow. Then it's Friday.
I finally broke down and started reading "Walking on Hell" (I'd been saving it for a rainy day)... and I have the latest three installments next to me. I love it. I love how well it fits into the continuity of the show, it's like being back stage, getting to see the other side of the story, repercussions of actions that were never addressed in the show. It makes me happy.
I still refuse to read "Memories/Legacy" until I really finish FF8... and that may well not be until I get back to the states. *sigh* I still look forward to it though.
Also started reading Paxnirvana's stuff... it's good. A bit darker than I'm used to, but then, so is "Walking on Hell".

So, yeah. I gained a level in slacking last night. Chris listens to Weiß. Plot on Fire and Song might acctually be /going/ somewhere again. Tokyo is still in the mythical time, and AX is starting to feel that way too... for totally different reasons.
Now I'm gonna go meet Tim in the library and be a linguistics geek. Then I think we're going questing for Gyoza for lunch. ^_^
