*bounce* I love fangirls. Oh how I love them. Well... the kind that don't think I'm wierd. This brought to you by [profile] snbmeg via [personal profile] baranoneko. Now my mind is a very happy place filled with bishounen. Especially after listening to the Velvet Underworld single for quite a while. I really like the c/w song on the single too: "Saigo no Bansan". It has a good rhythm, and the lyrics are cute... I think. Plus, I like Weiß songs with solos and/or harmony, they're the best.
Today was long, with multiple quizzes in Japanese and then... "Athropological Perspectives on the Society and Culture of Japan". This class has the potential to be incredibly interesting... instead, I keep a tally mark of ten-minute intervals until the class is over. The professor just has a very hard time keeping the lecture... comprehensible, or logical.
I did get my food stipend today, so after tommorow, I won't owe Kat money anymore. Yay! *glomps Kat* You saved me from starvation and certain doom! I love you!
I did get to talk to Craig, Corina, Thorin, Logan and The Twins online this afternoon, which was nice. Even if some peoples motives seemed less that friendly. The Twins (or maybe it was just Alethia, I couldn't tell) had wonderfully fun Seiyuu ranting, as always.
Got to talk to people IRL too, and got to obsess about linguistics with Gack-Guy Tim (He's studying sandscrit! For fun!). Looks like there's a potential to play Go as well, which is happy. I think one of these days we need to go sing Karaoke again, or play DDR, or some combination thereof. ^_^
When we got home at last, I studied, worked on the homework for my class back home, and read FAKE. Which led to a mini-rant:

See, every volume of FAKE I read, I'm in it for Dee and Ryo. Right from the begining of the first time I saw the anime, I loved them. In the manga, I love the slow development of thier relationship through Dee's stupidity and Ryo's shyness. I like that everything wasn't perfect from the begining and that after 4.3 volumes, it's never gotten graphic. It's a reminder of the fluffy shounen ai that was my roots in the fandom (pre-Kizuna).
Then, at the end of each volume, I get to the Bikky chapter. In the begining, I didn't like them. Then the author started to skip ahead in time, giveing Bikky and Cal/Carol years to grow up. Suddenly Bikky was gorgeous instead of cute, and sweetly dedicated in that 'Not that I care' way. Seeing thier friendship/romance across seven years, without the framing plot of murder and intrigue is really wonderful. In a way, I wish I could seperate these stories from the rest of the manga and have Kat read them. It's so sweet. Their story in volume 4 was the sweetest thing I've read in a long time. (That's the one for Cal's 18th birthday)... *spoilers ommited*.
It's funny to think that what Bikky/Cal is, is a het pairing in a mostly gay manga. In much american media, it's the other way around. The on gay couple is a sort of background to say 'Look, we're open-minded. Now back to the other people...' Instead, you have this manga, which takes the extra step that some yaoi manga never do: the step of having developed straight characters. It makes me happy.

Hn, well. I guess I'm done. I really need some shounen-ai icons... I don't have any. 'Cept Muraki... who I've decided is sort of like subtext on legs. Still, I never finished my Weiß icon before I left the states... so now I need to see what I can do here.
Hn. Anyway. I'm off to sleep. I /do/ have class in the morning after all.

Current Bishounen: Bikky, Yuuki Hiro (blame the music for the last)
