There is Drama in fandom again... though this time I just find it vaguely frustrating. For anyone concerned, there are articles here and the purpose statement of the... insigators? is here. On the one hand, reading their statement, I see what they are trying to do and why Fandom can't handle it. Fandom is intensely insular and defensive of it's community and culture. So despite their claims, I really don't feel fandom can or should be used to analyze the mind in the way that they are implying.

Anyway...
We got more coats of paint on Kiyomori's balls and jewels and wings today, and I survived work! Yay!
Tomorrow morning I sew and then I need to start working on the craftsmanship forms. They're due thursday.
Also, my mom cut about 7 inches off my hair. And I'm thinking about taking off more. This is an epic step forward!

I just finished my fifth straight day at work. Two left. It's not as bed when I don't open or close. Mid-shifts FTW.
I've been really irritable at work, I think I'm getting close to limitbreak. This worries me, because I am /not/ capable of customer service once I hit that point.
In other "news":
[site community profile] dw_news scares me. 42,000 comments and counting. They moved to earlier news posts when one filled. I'm... impressed. And scared. More the latter.

I have a gallon of blackberry tea. I have food to cook. I have fabric for Seigaku jerseys.
So it's mostly, but not entirely for the sake of making a statement that I'm posting this:

Because, really, it's the non-response that bothers me. It's been to working days for them since this started. They have no excuse. People have asked them very good questions. And if I've had the time to read a large chunk of them, then THEY sure as heck should have.

In echo of the posts from the MN crew yesterday, I thought people should know that my households are all fine. There were flash flood warnings in south Fort Collins last night, but luckily we're north of the area that was worst effected. (and on high ground compared to the surrounding area). The storm did pass right over the store, rattling windows and all that jazz. It took Andrea an extra half hour to get to work and I closed the store somewhat early.

Anyway. I'm glad to hear that all my acquaintances in the Twin Cities seem to have come through the bridge catastrophe all right.

Hang in there everyone.

[ETA-Unrelated- This had to happen on my day off. Strikethrough has hit fandom again. I know I'm the only one in my immediate (read: RL) friends circle who is actually into "fandom" in the way I am, but this has an effect on us all in the end. My fandom circles are exploding over [profile] ponderosa121 getting banned. (Y'all DON'T want to see the pic she got banned for, it's HP and that's all I'm saying. DON'T read all the comments either, as it crops up there too). But this scared me enough that I made a GreatestJournal (it's also setra), and I'm looking into backing up my journal.
They aren't just banning one journal here. They're eliminating ENTIRE users. All journals and all possible new ones. Forever. And there isn't an appeal system in place that I've yet heard anything about.
