Work Rambles...

setraWow. It's now been about two full weeks since I started this post.... I've been working in a store about 55 miles from my home store for those two weeks and my attitude has been all over the map while I've been down there five days a week. (And usually staying overnight for strings of four days at once).
[EDIT: 55 miles, not 5. I'm not THAT much of a whiney baby. >.>]
When we agreed to come down here, I was told that the store was in 'good shape'. If this store is the DTLs definition of 'good shape' then she is never ever allowed to so much as open her mouth in a critical fashion at our store. I spent eight straight hours just recovering. It was impossible to get through a single basket of go-backs without finding so many things out of place that there was more in the basket when you started. So, by the time I was ready to leave tonight, I was close to a nervous breakdown. Also, the closers didn't work on the go-backs from the registers, so we only finished what had been built up before today. ALSO
-Wearing shoes with poor support to the store where I have to walk way too much? Bad idea.
-Priorities that I thought were natural givens throughout the company... are not.
-/Requirements/ that I thought were pretty strictly enforced in the company... are not.
-Being the kind of hands-off manager than I tend to be doesn't always work.
-Managing people is infinitely easier when you know their names and skills.
Luckily, that rant was cut short because I started watching Arashi no Shukudai-kun first and was too in love with MatsuJun's new hair to care. Also Inoue Mao. Also Nino. And Leader. Yeah. Also, this whole 3-hour Odoroki special and the 3D-vision concert special? /SO/ excited! also, Nino knows the crazy-hard kanji for uguisu. Which makes him ten times more awesome to me. I miss the summer, Nino's hats were made of win. I wasn't even watching. ^^;;
Also... I love when they hold each other down for painful torment. It really entertains me.
VS Arashi Moments of love:
Guest: Are you the type to lie, or would you not?
Jun: I'm the type to /totally/ lie to you.
Guh, Sho in VS71? Why so sexy?
Ohno: So... we're going to interview Ninomiya. *clings to Nino's arm* So Ninomiya-san........ um... how are you?
Nino: Ah... I guess I'm ok. We're doing a photoshoot and everything. ...yeah, I'm fine.
Ohno: Next is Sakurai Sho. Desu. He's over there talking with the staff, let's go see. *barges straight into the middle of six people, grabs Sho's wrist and pulls him away from the group*
Sho: *confused apologetic look at producer-types*
Ohno: So finally, we have MatsuJun. He's finished his photoshoot and is over here reviewing the photos. *edges up behind Jun silently* *touches his elbow*
Jun: *glances over his shoulder, starting a little to find Leader there*
;_; Is this really the last episode? Because that would break my heart.
Ah, no, apparently the show is just getting a renewal and will be 'VS Arashi Golden'. *head shake* *shrug*
..... all that was two weeks ago. There's been a lot of development on the work front. I'm actually getting very involved in the store. I'm growing to love the team (more on that later), it's clear that they really have their hearts in the right place. We're slowly getting back on track with freight and recovery. There's a growing sense of ownership with me and the store. And... a lot of other things going on that I don't know how I feel about. I will be down there for at least one week, probably two.
I get the feeling that my home store crew figured out where I was in the last few days. I've gotten more calls for store transfers in two days than I did in the whole last week I was there. :P
