I had today off to go to the municipal court for my stupid ticket.
After being 40 minutes early, driving home to get my purse, still being 15 minutes early, then wandering for 30 minutes trying to find 215 S. Mason when the court is in fact at 215 N. Mason.
I was in tears by the time the Country Courthouse's info desk opened and told me I was an idiot.
Anyway... just ended up having the court appearance deferred to the 29th so that I can get the paperwork stuffs together. Which is nice. also found out that the cop actually ticketed my taillight, so it will cost me $75. Which sucks.
However! Waiting in line at court, who should get in line behind be but
chickenoftheday! Her name is Sara and she's one of the cosplayers who shops in my store frequently (the other Roxas who isn't also Kairi). We ended up chatting in line while I waited and then between mine and hers, since she was called up only a little later. We went to coffee at Everyday Joe's afterward and chatted lots about cosplay. Which left me wanting to play kingdom hearts and work on costumes. It turns out that we were in the same waiting room for the NDK cosplay contest but didn't recognize eachother. She also told me that the Bahamut from AX didn't actually compete in the judging at NDK - at least not craftsmanship. Which I may have known earlier. But forgotten.
We chatted about their future costume plans and skits and contests and other various things. It was really cool to remember that I do actually know how to talk to people. It sometimes doesn't feel that way.
Overall, coffee and fangirling massively improved my mood. ^_^
On the way home I swung by the store for a quick post-christmas scheduling consultation and then tried to get parts to fix my car (Val swears that they're really pretty cheap and appears to be right). However! My car is too old and no one stocks or can order the tail-light that I need. Nice Car is looking for me, but only has the passenger side on hand right now. I may need to hit up Jess's dad for help on this one...
Anyway. Once home I vegged out a little.
After 8 episodes of G no Arashi, I'm hooked. They're all a little more awkward, the shows are a bit more obviously scripted, but it's so much fun seeing them out interacting with people. The minor sports in particular I loved. I want to play the giant ball game!
Watching this show, I really begin to see how JE idols are made. Trained when they're less popular and exposed slowly until by the time they reach the point arashi is at right now they're so natural at acting the roles of themselves that there's no flaws. Unfortunately, it makes me believe some of what Chris said about it all being scripted. It's more obvious in 'G no' and presumably would beworse in the earlier shows... and now I can see bits of it in Sho and Leader on AnS. Which doesn't really lessen my enjoyment so... bah.
I'd really love to know when Aiba and Jun switched colors though... sometime between 2005 and Taipei in 2006?
AnS 113 - Itou Yuna
Itou Yuna is possibly one of prettiest celebrities I've ever seen on Shukudai-kun. And her English is perfect in addition to perfect Japanese. Plus Aiba is obviously smitten with her and showing off and... I love how straight he is sometimes. They also split up Ohno and Nino for this one, leaving Leader defenseless against Sho's over-enthusiastic reactions and Nino getting smacked around by Aiba trying to show off. PLUS adorable footage from their debut in Hawaii. 9 years ago! When Aiba still looked extremely effiminite, Jun was awkward, Leader had fwooshy Johnny Depp hair and Sho was... Like a smaller higher pitched version of himself just getting ready to graduate High School. Oh yeah, Nino was Nino. Like. No change except for height and hair. <3
Anyway, court sucks, fines suck. But meeting new friends is awesome. Days off are fabulous and I love Arashi. Again. Ijou desu.
