Sep. 7th, 2007 03:23 amI have to get up in three hours and be at work in four. But I have to ramble about things in my hear or else I won't be able to sleep.
)
1) iPod. I was going to get a new iPod, my third in a year, because I lost my second one I-know-not-where-or-how. I told myself I was going to wait until after the con to be sure not to overtax my finances. Only the other day I got an email from best buy. All new iPod nanos. Now with video (a feature I was wanting before). I'm really happy, but kind of frustrated, because if I still had either of my old ones, I could try to trade in and possibly trade up to one of these nice ones. But then, if I had my old one, I might never have noticed that they came out with new ones. I can already sense that I'm going to end up subscribing to tv shows via my ipod though, and that almost worries me. Almost. :P There are also awesome accessories available. Including a portable headset and shows you videos /and/ even better, a portable microphone that automatically strips the vocals from songs and broadcasts them via FM radio! It's portable iPod-karaoke! *sparkles* I really want an alarm clock/radio that uses my iPod though, that would be perfect /and/ useful.
2)Costumes. I pretty much slacked on Seigaku today except for getting Corina/Kaidoh's muslin one put together. I think the sleeves need to be wider, but we'll see. I spent a lot of time playing around with iron-ons though. First with the patches for our quickie Rikkai seifuku (which make me smile everytime I look at them). And then with test stuff for the jerseys. It took some mistakes and a lot of measuring and resizing, and I still need to go buy another $13 pack of iron-on sheets, but I think they'll look really good. I have a theory or two about re-ironing them after peeling the paper off in order to get a more integrated, textured look and less the look of an iron on, but at least the clear-backed new ones look much less crappy than the iron-to-dark version.
We did pick up fabric and start layouts for Rachel's costume though. I think she'll look awesome. Her coat will be sexy at the very least, and the shirt will be neat to see in action. :P
3) Cables. Yeah, it's fic. But it made me all squiggly inside and then made me upset and wanting more. It's always that way, of course, but it's in my brain and getting to me. And making me be in love with characters who I don't get to play.
4) Yagyuu. In my head as a muse for a couple of different worlds. I blame Jess entirely for one. And well... for the other too, mostly. And because I bought his wig today. I wanted a Christie, but they only had dark-dark brown, so I settled for an Eve. Jess says she'll trim it for me.
5) Wigs. Following from above. The girl at Life of the Party annoyed me in the extreme today. See... when I wig shop, I'm a problem guest. Because I want to be able to try things on, and I'm really indecisive. I also tend to be a little self-conscious about making her stand there and hand me one wig at a time while I try things on and waffle. It ends up making me feel forced to make a decision and I feel less happy about it. I know it's dumb, but it annoyed me that she wouldn't even let me pick wigs up off the shelf on my own. At least two of the other clerks know me and Jess well enough that they don't mind at all, so it was a severe change in atmosphere this time and we all know how I feel about change. And /then/ it took her forever to get the wig for us and I'm fairly certain that she sold me the floor model without saying anything because it was in the wrong packaging. Anyway.
6) Work. I get my new fixtures on /Saturday/. Because clearly /that/ will be helpful to getting everything out from the truck that was on Tuesday. This also means that no one else will be there to help me and whoever move them, receive them, whatever. And that I'm on my own for planning and merchandising them... and I know from experience how likely you are to complete projects that you start on Saturdays. >.< This Donna? Oh, this is just my unamused face, that's all. Carry on.
I feel a little better now. Except for my back hurting. I think I'll watch the Happiness video again and hopefully pass out.
