setraSo yes, at long last I am taking some time this morning to watch BukiMyu.
(The experience was enhanced by noises of Tennis from outside my window down in the park.)
Well, what they lack in voice matching old cast, they certainly make up for with new pretty.
In full makeup and with movement, I can't totally object to the new kids. Their dance skills are amazing, and the coreography is also up a point from previous Myus.
They do this significant eye-contact thing that I really like.
Also very important, the actors all look to be having a fabulous time on stage. Smiles all around make it easier to feel good about this cast.
"Run Run Run" - Look! Our New Actors
Inui: isn't bad. And while he isn't Sota (whom I adored), he clearly watched him and learned a lot from him about Inui. He also appears - as they all do - to have taken the character for himself. No one seems to be just immitating the older actors. This Inui has a little smirk that's all his own, and I like it... a lot.
Momoshiro: How could I have worried. And really, if I thought he looked effeminite in photos, I clearly hadn't been looking at cosplayers recently (most of whom are female). He's got a strong voice and not in a bad range for the role. He has the movements down fairly well, and while his stage presence is nothing to MoriEiji, he is /there/ and he is Momo.
Kawamura: ... his eyes are wierd. Not that it bugs me much as his voice, height and manner all seem good... just... odd.
Fuji: Ok, so he squeaks. But he moves likebias-cut silk Fuji, and he's pretty (not like Kimeru, but then, who is?). I think the voice will get to me, but I also guess that he'll improve and smooth out in future.
Kikumaru: Hey look! Eiji! ^^ No worries. He bounces.
Kaidoh: one of my least worrysome characters after listening to the soundtrack. Indeed, he's good. He looks different, and sounds different, but all in a good way, I think.
Oishi: Ok... I still don't like his face, and I still don't much like his voice. But he's all right, and I'm sure there will be growth before this cast moves on.
Tezuka: SHIROTA-SAAAAAN! Wow he's hot. And TALL. Yep. I alerady loved this boy enough that I'm not qualified to really judge his playing of bucho, but he looks good, sounds good, and has the /presence/ to pull it off.
Echizen: よ、遠藤。元気にしてる？歌も踊るのもよくなってきたね。
Akutsu beats up some chibis. Whatever.
Mmmmm... Echizen vs. Fuji.
It's not fair that I loved this song already, and it's actually better on stage than I imagined.
Most of these boys can run/dance and sing flawlessly at the same time. It's really neat.
And Oishi is really trying to smooth out his voice, he WILL get better. (He and Tezuka keep having these moments, and it's really neat.)
Drive B! HIGUMA OTOSHI!!! *bouces hopelessly*
Fuji's got a good laugh too.
Inui keeps taking these nice moments, to comment, and it's very nice (and IC).
Wow... and somehow I really was expecting SeiRu to be back to the old cast for some reason... of course they acted out the flashback on stage. But I have things to do today to Yuu~ta<3, will have to wait for later.
And yes, I slept and slept... and still woke up at 9:30. So I got a reward, and now there's time to go do all my stuff today!
