Feb. 7th, 2004 11:44 pmOk, so here it goes, updateing...
Today was... wow. Quite something.
After a tiring night of Karaoke last night and an early morning, the mutual thought when we got home was that never moving again seemed like a good plan.
We were up for Sailor Moon Live Action at 7:30. We even recorded it! The show is awesome and I love how much I can understand of it. I really like what they're doing with the plot too, it's an odd twist to be placing on it, but it's fun.
Then we chatted with the Posse online for two hours or so and recorded 'PichiPichiPichi'. The chat session left me wanting to write another rant about how awsome people are and how much I love cosplay.
Then we got pseudo ready to go, packed up our costumes and headed out to Osaka with out fanboy escort (Dale and Miko-boy). Last time we were at Mandarake, we saw a sign and this weekend was cosplay day(s). It was interesting going back to Osaka, and a little annoying because Miko-boy seemed to think he knew where he was going, though he'd never been there before. Still, we made it and after a bit of confusion and hastly changing in the smallest bathroom stall /ever/ we were checked in and wandering about in costume. Which rocked.
I think one of the best moments of the day was:
Kat: Maya, is that who I think it is? *points at girl in costume behind counter*
Me: Wow, yeah, Umi... no, no... that's Lumiale.
Kat: Yeah, yeah it is.
*exchanged smiles*
We hung out for a long time wandering in circles and poking at things. Finnally found the Ange/HaruToki CDs... along with all the shounen-ai cds/tapes/games.
Miko-boy (so named because he spent nearly $300 on a priestess outfit in Tokyo, and wore it today) was sort of generally wandering and I have no idea what he bought. Dale bought more yaoi doujinshi to sell to the poor exploitable fangirls of America. I bought the "Beautiful Alone" CD single, and "Hemisphere" as well. Got a sticker with the former and haven't opened the latter yet. Also got some cute GetBackers stuff and an Ange pencil board. We also bought *item title removed for secrecy* from the cosplay corner, and then carried it reverently all the way home. The sales girl was so happy when we bought it...
On the way out, we took pictures and little Japanese boys settled on the stairs to watch us. I decided that wearing Hokuto home was much prefferable to finding somewhere to change.
We grabbed dinner on the way to the station and then caught the trains just toward the end of rush hour (not so bad, because it was a Saturday).
The train ride back was tiring, only because we didn't get a seat on the Express, so were standing for 30 minutes. And the walk back from Makino wasn't bad at all, despite being rather cold and me being in Hokuto (a skirt and sleeveless shirt). I forgot how much I love that costume. I hope our pictures came out ok... I know I tend to be unphotogenic in costume.
Once we finnally got home and had collapsed for a little while (and gotten out of costume), we stole the kitchen TV and watched the cool thing that Kat bought. Which reminded me that I love Miki Shin-ichirou and that I'm developing an odd fixation with uuki Hiro. Then we foolishly decided to start a game in Angelique Trois... which took nearly an hour, I think. It was fun though, if a bit boring, and it was a bit of a Koyasu-fix for me. I need to remember to have someone send me my live Weiss DVD and my Ange live event (the later for Hayami Show and Morikawa Toshiyuki).
Then we took photos of stuff and came down here to report the whole mess.
And now I'm going to bed. It's really rather late, and 'PreCure' is on tomorrow morning much too early.
Current Bishounen: Miki Shin-ichirou and Yuuki Hiro (I am /so/ wierd...)
