What a night... (Merry Christmas!)

setraOk, so I just got back from Kat's. And I'm doing this now, because I know I'll forget if I put it off until tommorow.
First, the number of invitations I got to peoples houses for Christmas blew me away. I was deeply touched to know that there are so many of my friends (and thier families) willing to invite me to thier homes.
After my visit with Arella last night, and my presents from Nick, Kat and 'Rel, I figured the holidays couldn't get a whole lot better, today proved me wrong.
The saga of the morning and early afternoon is still a bit blurred, but it involved a long phone call with my mother (still in CA), buying gas, forgetting my directions and at last heading off to Broomfield around 12:30 (rather than 11 as I had planned).
I found the house easily though, and hung about with Kat and watched Last Dracul (the Sailor Moon Musical). At some point between the 5 different Tuxedo Kamens, I found out that Kat's parents had decided to give me a stocking filled with chocolate, and two other gifts. I was shocked and flattered. I abstained from the chocolate in favor of dinner and the other two presents I left for later.
Then we hung out in the kitchen and watched her mother make final preparations on dinner. Dinner was delicious, and rather amusing. I got to meet the infamous younger brother (who materialized once food was on the table and vanished almost as rapidly after dinner). After a long discussion of movies, we ended up watching the Two Towers Extended edition (but that's a whole different rant that /will/ wait until tommorow). It was over at some point before midnight, and Kat and I proceded to talk until nearly 3 AM, about D&D, MOOs, MUDs, Japan, characters, the usual.
Then at long last we extricated ourselves from conversation, and I gathered my stuff and headed home. The drive was uneventful save for my brain deciding about 10 miles out of town that it would be ok to start going to sleep... NOW. I corrected it, but not before I developed a lovely headache. When I finnaly got home I crawled in and decided to open the presents from Kat's parents before I went to bed. It was somewhere in the 15 minutes of staring deligtedly at said presents that I decided I needed to make my LJ entry tonight and caputure that feeling. Utter awe and disbelief.
What they were, I'm not going to post, most of you know what I own well enough that you'll probably find out anyway.
After these past two days, I feel simultaneously lucky, and unworthy, and filled with warm fuzzies. Which is, I suppose, what the holiday is meant to be about. I love you all, thank you for being amazing friends and making every day of my life beautiful and interesting.
