Jpop Rambling

Ok. With as many hours as I'm working this week, I've been listening to a lot of Japan-A-Radio. And as such, have been building up a larger than normal store of notes on Jpop and Anime music. So I'm going to ramble for a bit because articles and PubMed are being silly.
First: I don't like X-Japan. This is probably because every song of thiers I've heard sounds like a continuation of "Forever Love" with different lyrics. The best I've heard from them is "Crucify My Love" and after the second or third time, I never wanted to hear it again.
I am developing a few new likes though: Chitose Hajime for one. Though her voice struck me as annoying at first (she sings everything in semi-vibrato, which usually annoys me), the music and songs are very nice. Especially her more recent work, which has a pretty unique feel in the Jpop universe. Best example I can think of is "Sen no Yoru to Sen no Hiru" (roughly translating to "Thousand Nights and Thousand Days")... which I can describe except in abstacts. Solemn yet hopeful, slow yet flowing evoking something mysterious and precious that was/is lost. To me atleast.
The other primary new thing for me, or couse is Hitomi. The one who goes by just Hitomi and no other names. I've yet to hear a song of hers that I didn't like on some level. She's bouncy, and most of her songs have a good danceable beat too. In particular "Progress" - every time I hear it I go 'What is this, it's good!' and then go 'Oh, duh, Hitomi.' Most of her songs are like that.
I also like "The Brilliant Green", but that's not suprising since they're in much the same musical style as Do As Infinity.
I'm trying not to like Namie Amuro, becuase she's one of the very typical ones to like - but there is something to be said for unadulterated pop and a strong mezo-soprano singing it.
Then there's Luna Sea. Whose lead singer tries and /almost/ succeeds at sounding like Gackt. Until you listen to an acctual Gackt song and he pales in comparison to the /depth/ of the real thing. Yes, Gackt is still amazing, his voice still sends shivers up my spine, I really want to see Technolyze (which has Opening and Closing themes by Gackt and is his debut as a Seiyuu!).
Ah, ok. Yes. I'm better... sorry for those to whom none of that means anything. I reccomend trying Japan-A-Radio if you have any interest in Jpop or Anime music. They play an amazingly nice balance of styles and sounds, and it's free!
Ok, ok, not going on that rant again. I love them, I love my job for letting me listen to it while organizing things (my other favorite thing to do).
Bishounen: Luva (Because I'm doing filing stuff and going to the Library a lot)
Random note of Broken-making (to me atleast): Realization this morning that the Weiss radio drama/image album "Crashers: Knight and Ran" is Luva and Olivie as assassins/investigators for Kritiker. [[Kat! We need to watch more Gluehen when you get back. I hear that we actually get to see Crashers (and therefore hear Seki Toshihiko!) toward the end. ^_^]]
