At Long Last: PosseCon Trip - Part 1

28 Aug. 2003 (Thursday)
16:30 PM - Leave Fort Collins. Decide to take 287 to Laramie because diagonal lines are superior to right angles.
17:00 - Realize that we never did buy gas in town... and we have just entered Nowhere.
17:05 - Turn south from Nowhere, toward LaPorte. Find gas. Buy Many gummi candies.
Several Hours - Discussion of D&D, cosplay, and gay boys who shouldn't talk about thier sex dreams. Realization that the scenery really does get boring the instant you enter Wyoming.
19:10 - Stopped in Sinclair to call Kat's parents
19:30 - Stop at Wendy's (*Mmm, food!*)
19:50 - On the road again! *entering highway* K: "Is this the right way?" M: "No. we need to be going toward the sun..."
19:58 - Return to Sinclair. Good old town, glad to know it's still here and all...
19:59 - "Ok, we turn here..." *giant DO NOT ENTER sign pops into existance* *swerve* "oops, no we don't." Re-enter highway
20:00 - Officailly begin Travel Log
21:07 - Stopped at "Bar X Rd" (M: Bard x Bard?)... the creepiest, scariest dirt road in Wyoming. Driver switch. Maya discovers that Nigoki doesn't have a clutch, but does have a turning radius of "maybe".
21:30-ish - Removed bugs from winshield. Filled up in Gas. Discovered the wonders of Nigoki's alarm system and a strange oily substance on the rear windshield.
22:15 - While discussing Maeru angst (and making Maya unable to talk with the pain), passed "Little America" (Kat Note: Visit on return Trip)
23:00 - Pass "Bar Hat Rd" and hope it won't hurt us... looks almost as creepy as Bar X.
23:01 - Wow... there are three lanes here.
23:02 - No more third lane. Maya hits 85+ mph... again.
23:30 - Kat's phone has service!!! Called twins & parents. Apparently the map is circular.
23:59 - Hogwarts Exress sighted

00:03 - Kangaroo crossing sighted... or was it just a deformed deer?
00:24 - Man fighting Bull (This log really deteriorates as we get tireder)
00:36 - Bridal Vale Park - Left. Nunns Park- Right. I guess it's one or the other...
00:38 - "Provo, Left Lane" (said in unison as the sign became visible)
00:49 - Arriver at Provo, Twins!
00:52 - *walking along the street* M: That apartment up there had a lot of wall scrolls... I wonder if that's thiers. (Note: It was! ^_^)
Several Hours - Discussion of Seiyuu, D.N.Angel, bishounen, seiyuu, Saiyuki, Cons, Translations, TokyoPop, ADV, seiyuu, Disneyland, Get Backers, and costumes. Did I mention that we talked about Seiyuu?
03:30 - Finnaly off to bed. What a long day!
