setra: (doctor who hmm?)

In picking Doctor Who back up (like 6 months after I watched "Let's Kill Hitler") it was really hard - as it always is - to readjust to Matt Smith. It didn't help that while "Night Terrors" was a Mark Gatiss episode, and super creepy, it wasn't the best for Eleven and the Ponds.

Only then I kept going, and if ever there was an episode to bring me back to caring.... then damn this was it. "The Girl Who Waited" and "The God Complex" were both amazing actually Faith is a hard thing to make the audience feel through the screen, and I think they actually did it. The scene with little Amy was heart rending.

The next episode was both heartbreaking and a bit awesome, and did a nice job of playing around with time.
I really loved the episode with the baby actually. Cybermen aside, it had some lovely character exposition on Eleven, and some crazy 'oh no you didn't' kind of moments with the gay innuendo. Speaking of - I can totally see the OT3 now. Especially in "The Girl Who Waited" there was communication between The Doctor and Rory that was just... quietly intimate. They get each other, and they adore this mad beautiful woman that they're with... there was the really depressing bit at the end of course, because The Doctor always has these hard choices to make and he can't run from them forever.

And then... shit. Because the River plot had to come back, and I'm still not sure how to feel about it. All the time they've spent saying "if he knew who you were" and talking about her locked up in Stormcage... and I still can't see her killing him, not really.

The opening of "The Wedding of River Song" - holy crap, the craziness. I know no one else cares all these years later, but the pterodactyls in the park... made me think of Myfanwy and Ianto. Bit of a melancholy start to it all, but that's what this is going to be.
The long hair on Matt Smith is actualy rather hot. And I don't think that about him... almost ever.
"You've decided that the universe is better off without you, but the universe doesn't agree."
Oh my god. I actually teared up a little... first time in two seasons. That I've cared.

In short: Ok, Mr. Moffat, it took you two years, but you may perhaps have won me over. Perhaps.
