setra: Ezio Auditore, assassin, catches a feather in his hand. (ezio)

I worked my way into Sequence 3 today, and into a whole pile of side missions. Here's the rant:

My quest to avoid the Tower defense game has worked today, so no more of that nonsense for me. Maintaining my presence in the Mediterranean Defense side of things is mind-boggling, and could almost be a whole separate strategy in itself. I may have to give up for a while or bring my focus down to one city at a time... I only just discovered that you can send Assassin's off to watch over cities as well (I'm a dork) so now it may be an eternity before I advance the plot just so I can keep recruiting and training and sending my babies off into the world. I'm still vaguely put out that my Italian assassin masters didn't transfer over, at least for the defense game. but since there's only one Italian city on the world map, I'm going to guess that they're just sticking close to home.

There will be more about recruits and Mediterranian Defence tomorrow, I'm sure.

I'm working through challenges as well, and managed to unlock the bomb capacity upgrade finally. Bombs are... very cool. When I'm thinking about them, I love them. But then I always run out of the ones I want or end up having to skip back off to craft a different style for one reason or another. And civilians keep setting off my tripwire bombs, which is both sad because I hate accidentally killing civilians, and frustrating because those shells are expensive to replace. I also find sticky bombs... oddly disturbing. I guess in a game where I'm so used to being up close and personal with my very human enemies, and used to each death being somehow meaningful, the idea of physically blowing a person up by attaching a grenade to them? Kinds disturbing. Yeah. See, video games don't totally desensitize us to violence after all. XD

I somehow accidentally unlocked the Master Assassin Armor, which is both awesome because now I have triple the health that I should have and also annoying because now I'm stuck being boring grey color forever.

I'm getting to the point where money is flowing in nicely though, so I expect to start picking up landmarks soon. Though that damn mini game certainly keeps you from just sitting and money farming while you make lunch, let me tell you.

Plot-wise, I didn't do a lot. Suleiman is a good kid, but that's all I have to say about him. I really really like Sofia. The age gap is a bit odd, but... it's so sweet. She's so closed off, so quick with the come backs, and Ezio is so disarmed by her passion. She's smart and beautiful and oh so clever. And I might want to cosplay her... just a lot. I'm pondering on that. >.>

I played the first Altair segment as well. It's odd that he moves just like Ezio now. No second blade, no hook, etc. But the /movement/ is the same, and that's a little sad to me. Hearing his voice again was startling, but kind of nice as well And I loved running around Masyaf and seeing all the other Assassins in uniform again. <3

Some of the conversations in the flashbacks make me wonder if maybe they're.... trying to bring back the shades of grey? Between Al Mualim and some of the Templar agents and William in Desmond's memories.... I feel like maybe there is some good at the core of the Templar agenda. And that maybe the Assassins aren't all they're cracked up to be either. Deep thoughts.
Part 2 for Desmond was... more challenging. Still beautiful, but I can tell already that it will be pretty frustrating for me to get through them all. I have some inversion issues (I want x inversion off when I think about blocks but on when I think about looking around... which is a bit of a problem.)
