This Weekend (+plus)

setraI managed to actually get some things started. Which is like getting things done, but without the actual completion.
I got the borders, backing and binding on the quilt for Jess with the help of my mother. I also got to see my mom, Arella and Mark. Which was nice.
We got a lot done on cleaning the apartment. My room is actually approachable now. I have a /big/ pile of stuff to get rid of, and almost all my clothes and things are washed now. I got the kitchen scrubbed pretty well on Friday night and Jess got the bathroom today. A little more work on my sewing area and it may be more manageable as well. Either way, I'm really looking forward to vacuuming. I actually took the time to light a candle and some incense in my room for the first time in a couple of years. It was nice to have the moment to focus and make the room really feel like /mine/. It's been since RiverRock or Sheely since I really did anything to focus the energies in my room... hopefully I can keep up with it.
There've been some things that just made me all kinds of happy this weekend, one of the big ones being just being away from work. I've also been watching dramas again...
ashitara got me started on Uta no Onii-san and I've finally sucked it up and started downloading Love Shuffle too. Re-watching "Ren'ai Shindan" is a it painful of course, but that's just the way of things. I had a request to do 'detailed summaries', which is more or less turning into direct translations. I could dumb it down to a paragraph or two per episode, but it would take just as long and be less detailed, so...
UtaOnii 2 was cool... though... it's odd to see Oh-chan like this. And I really hope that he gets off of smoking. Even if he does it in real life all over the place, I don't like seeing it. >.> I know, I'm shallow. I like the overall seriousness and the underlying themes of this show though. And the prince-guy totally freaks me out becuase his hair and facial structure look /so/ much like Okiayu-san sometimes. >.>
Love Shuffle 2 had some great moments. I really adore 'Ai-ai' (I think her name is Airu?). She's probably my favorite character by far, and not just because I'm biased and idolize verbal translators. The photographer, Ojirou is also made of awesome. And hotness. Even though I know he's a total jerk in a lot of ways, I still love him lots.. The slutty married girl annoys me a little... and I still don't know what to think of Tamaki Hiroshi's character (Kei). It's like he's so afraid of letting go of anything that he's just failing at all sorts of things that could be making him happy. Daigo is awesome as Yukichi, and I'm curious to see where the story goes and if his ass-loads of money ever get involved in it. The crazy girl is... odd. I don't know what to think of her either really.
Mark and mom really flipped out over Masaomi's kimono... making me all blushy and embarrassed. I have this feeling with costuming that I'm really just doing it for myself (好き勝手にやっている is my exact feeling), so when other people recognize or praise my work I get pretty embarrassed. Anyway...
I really want to get down to finishing Masaomi's kimono in the next day or two. It's over a month past when I wanted it done and I still have the jacket to do. The longer I think about it, the more I think that the plain purple with only the gold side of the original fabric and an extra layer around the edges might be my answer.
I also need to remember to double check all my costumes before Detour. I think I'm bringing Benkei, Saku, Masaomi and Yuushi. I'd love to redo Benkei's cloak before the con too, so I should remember to leave time for that.
I'm also really really tired and worried about making it to work on time tomorrow, but those are troubles for another time. I'm doing much better than I was, and hope others are as well.
Work. Today. Was. Crazy. Seriously. I don't even have words to explain the madness of making 10k with staffing planned for 6k. And unloading a truck in the middle of it. SERIOUSLY. We are a small store people... we don't expect things like this in the off-season. The Boss was glowing all afternoon though, through the haze of pain anyway. And truck is ready for work to be done on it. The rest of the week better not continue to be nuts or one of us will die... but hopefully people will go back to work and settle down. Payday and double discounty goodness coming up on friday. I need to see the check and wait for sunday to really go crazy though... I want my Yudu. >.> I want to make T-shirts.
I work the next two weekends at work, which hopefully won't kill me. And then I'll have another two weeks of weekends in the beginning of March to try to get stuff done again.
