Don't read this post (AI7-EP11)
Feb. 27th, 2008 09:40 pmThis post is about American Idol.
I'm a little embarrassed even to be making it. I might even flip out and private it later.
Episode 11
Top 12 Boys
David Hernandez(***) - First guy, poor boy. I like a lot of what he does with his voice and he has the clean cut boring good looks to pass.
Chikeeze (*) - I'm... not impressed. What Paula and Randy see, I don't know. I'm with Simon for the most part, he's meaner than I would be.
David Cook (****)- I <3 him. I'm afraid that he'll get cut because I watched a top 10 intro by accident, but I <3 him anyway. He reminds me /strongly/ of Jim Sturgess (from Across the Universe)... expressions, presentation, etc. This wasn't his best performance, but it was good.
Jason Yeager (*) - Cute story... not pretty. Boring song, but good enough voice I guess. *shrug*
Robbie Carrico (****) - Haven't seen him much before this, and I'd love to see more, not my favorite and not my pick to win, but he's fun and interesting and honest. I like that.
David Archuleta (****) - Ok. He did a /really/ brave initial audition song. A HARD song. He's adorable, and young, with a good voice that's showing growth already. His performance was fabulous - a little tense, but /damn/ his voice.
Danny Noriega (**) - He's like... every High School-age gay boy. And that just bugs me a little. He's cute and his voice is great. He;s got nice hips though. Like a tiny awkward American-Jun. :P Too fucking confident though. Uzai.
Luke Menard (*) - I have no opinion really. Voice too soft and breathy, looks too boring. A bit old for the show in all likelihood. Boring song choice, no performance. "Forgettable" pretty much covers him.
Colton Berry (**) - Um. Yeah. Whatever. If Danny annoys me a little, then Colton just flat out pisses me off. He's just... a theatrical singer and Kyle was a better one. I'm with Simon on that too. Talented enough, but just... yep. Like Simon said 'karaoke'-feeling.
Garrett Haley (*) - He's um... young. With fluffy hair. Nervous and tired-looking on stage. Stronger voice than some but still... a good 'karaoke' performance, though it stepped beyond that a little at the end. Meh.
Jason Castro (***) - Talented. And more mature and good-looking to me than a lot of the others. Not as strong a performance as I'd have liked though. Paula doesn't make decisions. <3
Michael Johns (***) - He's ok. The accent is cute, his 'Bohemian Rapsody' was actually tollerably. This was an ok performance. But the rock'n'roll nurses version was better. Still, like Simon said... strong consistent performer and that's worth something.
I want to make a tag called 'filthy American television' just for this.
Unrelated Attempt to redeem myself.
