Tennis is over
Apr. 23rd, 2005 08:21 pmOld news, I know.
My discussion bit is written and just keeps getting longer the more I poke at it. My question is done, unless anyone needs to change thier speech styles and stuff. I hope it's enough.
I just watched the last half of Side Fudoumine.
I had been putting it off.... knowing that as long as I hadn't watched it (I fell asleep the first time I watched it)... but as long as I hadn't watched it, there was always more.
Now there isn't. It's over. The last few minutes play as I type... and I'm fighting tears right along with the boys graduating.
"You Got Game" was the best thing ever. I don't even really have words.
It was that and "Now and Forever" that really felt like the end. More than Ryoma's final match in AniPuri even... tennis is over.
There may be more, one way or the other, but this is the end of an age. An age that began with the manga, continued for four years with the anime, continued with the original musicals... through one year and eight months of troubles and cast changes they grew in power and popularity. And now - months ago actually - that first age is over. For good.
It's over.
That I ever considered not buying the dvd is now inconcievable to me. Then again, I never really did. Even before we knew about the other endings, I knew this would be what it was. If the dvd were on cdjapan, it would be in my hands already.
