Nostalgia...
Aug. 27th, 2008 01:01 amI just imported 374 mp3s from my old collection. That's probably less that 1/4 of the total that I burned off to CD when I moved away from my mother's house. Among those were about... maybe 10 that I really wanted to get back and a LOT that I'll probably end up keeping around for nostalgia.
The problem? When I was younger (I haven't touched most of these in probably 5 years or more) I had several severe problems: 1) I didn't speak Japanese. 2) I didn't type or read Japanese. 3) I downloaded anything that might be related to what I was looking for. 4) I saved EVERYTHING. Because, y'know, mp3s are valuable, even if you really don't like them that much.
So now I'm slowly, slowly working on trying to figure out /what/ all these songs are. Where they came from and get accurate (Japanese when possible) album and artist info. This is a far more difficult proposition than you might imagine. I also have to kick out the songs that don't impress me or that are duplicates. I already found a copy of "Hemisphere" in this pile, with no legible tags no less.
At least I won't have any lack of things to work on when I flail and can't work on Kimono.
