Ah... not so bad after all. Last night was one of the nicest nights I've had in ages. I wrote checks for my bills and then I went with Salem and swam for 45 minutes or so. This was especially nice because everyone was at the football game, so the pool and hot tub and locker rooms were seriously empty.
It's so easy for me to forget what a joy swimming is, it's like dancing only not quite. I don't know, it's just a beautiful release and great excercize.
Then I went back to the car, grabbed my stuff and wandered over to Eddy for the remains of the Japanese review.
I love my class, I love how close we are and how much fun we have. I also really enjoy seeing Beeken-sensei a little more relaxed - or in pain in some cases. I shared Salem's cookies and everyone got one. Beeken-sensei was happy because it gave her an excuse to make everyone practice giving and receiving.
Then we worked on particles, and vocab and the good dozen new sentence forms that we should know for this test. Then I had a long discussion with myself (half in Japanese) about how silly it is that I can't control my eating or force myself to excercize (I've been trying to for years) until suddenly it's for Olivie. And I tell myself that, that it's to do justice to Olivie. And that makes me foolishly, irrationally happy.
Anyway, then I went and met Salem and we went home. Watched episodes 14-15 of Wiess (I've finally seen the fall of the Takatori now... *bursts into tears*). I made flashcards and signs to hang around the house on the reizouko, denshirenji, etc.
Then the boys came over and brought a cool movie called "Mean Machine" - which is buy the guys who did "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" and "Snatch". It was about 'football' in a british prison... and it was awesome.
Then it was very late and I gave Salem a backrub and then got shooed off to bed. Nate discovered the joy of ParaPara MAX music. And I went to bed with a new 12-page fanfic from Talya Firedancer (I fell asleep on page 3), and 6 hours until Asian Civ.
I overslept just a bit, but wasn't too late to class. No one was there today, it was creepy. I also found my credit card... it was in the jeans that I put on this morning... they were washed and clean... I have no clue.
And then I took lots of notes on scary turkish invaders and the Delhi sultanate and the general destruction that was the early first millennium AD.
Now I'm here, and I have a bagel to eat as soon as I sort out all my forms and give the right ones to Beeken-sensei and Matsuura-sensei.

Ok, maybe that just amuses me, but I'm happy. It seems sorta nifty.

You know, this week has turned out a lot better than it had showed any potential for being.
First revelation: the review session helped! It helped a lot. Beeken-sensei isn't kissing when she says you remember better if you review within 24 hours. I feel so much more confidant about the test now.
Also, the research report was delayed for a week, so I have time to finish my Lia story this weekend and study for the midterm and read for Asian Civ. *dances*
Also, tonight there is some sort of karaoke-like activity at Fun Club. I have no idea how it will work, but I hope it will.
My hair is happy, my muscles aren't complaning anymore and I just got to eat my breakfast. Life is good.

Roses

One more random happiness that I forgot to mention, Salem gave me a rose. I'm not sure why, she said I needed it. It made me realize that no one had ever given me flowers before. And just what a sweet gesture it is, I don't do enough nice things for people. Anyway, thank you Salem. *hugs*
Jeez, I post way to much.

Yay for fluff!
We had karaoke tonight, and it was a lot of fun.
Then Kat and I went to see Jane Eyre. It was awesome. As usual for Debut, or course. Chris did lighting design and had a couple of smaller roles. Quentin was the male lead, and was amazing. The costumes were great, the sets rocked... and the story was exactly the kind of sweet angsty fluff that I needed to close off the night.
In addition, I got to see a lot of the PHS kids (Nikki, Jesse, et al) and I may have gotten a trenchcoat commision (Chris has been fwooshing around PHS advertising for me apparently... ^_^)). I'm happy. Now I just have to decide whether I have any interest in role-playing tonight... not really.
I do have an urge to swoon over seiyuu more than normal and maybe to write Lia. The Boys may come over later with movies or something. Meh, it's all good, I think I'll go meander now, or maybe talk to Salem. I'd really like to sew, but I have nothing to work on.
By the way, I am open for sewing commissions. $10/hour for labor plus materials. If you ever desperately wanted a kimono or trenchcoat or dress or something... drop me a line and I'll see if it seems possible. ^_^
