Memories
This post will be filled with random Music-babble, mostly for my own amusement.
Tonight before starting laundry I embarked on a massive overhauling of my iPod collection. By which I really mean that I made a new playlist for the first time in 4 months.
I started by adding the newest Amuro Namie that I got from
ladyofthegate, but it grew to one of the largest playlists I've ever made. I tried to limit this particular playlist to songs that were upbeat and fitting to productivity at home or work, the playlist is called 'Overdrive' and ended up at 704 songs, by far the largest on my iPod (there are only about 1100 songs total at the moment). Because I literally skimmed the entirety of my library for songs to put on this playlist, I dropped a couple of my other biggies to make room for it. Namely my all-Arashi and all-Maaya and Nao-kun lists.
The new set of songs got it's test while sorting and starting laundry and while taking a quick trip to walmart for dryer sheets. I'm not listening exclusively to the playlist at the moment, instead opting to shuffle the whole contents of my iPod so far I am /very/ pleased with the new balance of music and have heard several new things (or very old things that hadn't yet made it back into the spotlight of my attention.
New Stuff I'm thrilled to have:
"Girl Talk" - Amuro Namie. I /adore/ the PLAY album, but when I had this song stuck in my head for the better part of a week and didn't have it in any form but YouTube videos, it was not fun. Now I can bounce around and dance to it all I want. ^_^ The same goes for the three songs from "60s 70s 80s", especially "New Look".
Old Stuff I'm glad to hear again:
"Still" - Alanis. The theme from Dogma. I /adore/ this song. It seems oddly appropriate for the state of the world right now and it was really nice to hear it again tonight, one of the very first songs to pop up on shuffle.
Graceland Album - Paul Simon. It's actually been on my iPod for a few weeks now, but I'm still happy everytime I hear one of the songs from it... just a little part of my childhood that I'm very happy to relive.
"Toki ni Ai wa" - Okui Masami. From the Utena Movie. It's a little softer than what I was originally pushing for with this list, but it's so beautiful... it just makes me happy.
Now to bed, I wasn't planning to stay up this late at all and am now more than braindead.
EDIT - Apparently so braindead that I forgot how to code LJ-cuts. Wow. -.-;
