Hm. Last night. I think that's what I was going to write about. Yep. Last night was good. I worked on Hinoto with Katie and bought the last of her material... which was freaking expensive and not even that nice... *sigh* Then Thorin showed up, and we talked about video games and stuff while I worked. Anyway, then we took Katie home and went to buy the B5 Gathering/In The Begining DVD. On the way we ran by Best Buy to check on the computer. Paid about $400 for windows XP, a new (120GB) harddrive and 256 megs of SDRAM. After today, they should be about done with all of that and I will have a working nice computer back. Yay! Hopefully mom won't kill me, but the decision needed to be made and she'd been talking about $200-300 for a new harddrive anyway, so this is a lot better stuff for only a little more than that.
Anyway, we swung by Corina and Steph's later (that house needs a name that isn't just the names of the people who live in it! Suggestions?), and helped put up Corina's futon. We watched Mulan and then kidnapped them back to my house to watch B5.
I can't help make snide comments at some of the stuff in "The Gathering". It was damn good for a pilot, but some of the universal facts are a bit altered. Except for one, the one line that gives away the fact that JMS knew /exactly/ what he was doing even way back then: "Entil-za Valen". I never remember that it's there until it's said... but, damn. Several of Delenn's lines too. I really like the re-edit they did for TNT. Added some sound clips from later in the show, and some improved CG. Really nice. The DVD is wonderful quality and well worth the $17 I paid for it.
I really hope that Steph and Thorin enjoyed it... and weren't too annoyed by my commenting. I'm still recruiting people to play in my B5 campaign.
I'm still not sure, but it looks like we're going to be running PsiCorps at the moment. Creepy and evil, I know. For the moment, all cannon characters are off limits, and all players will be starting at level one. Most will be required to be Telepaths as base class... because it /is/ the PSICorps. If you want to play, comment here with a character concept. Any career goals that you might have at this point are acceptable. Anyone starting with Thorin and Corina in the Corps must be human. Other races/classes are open once they get to B5.
I'm not sure how I'll get them to B5, if at all in the first few sessions, but we'll see.
Oh yeah. Matricies test: 60% Even. 30/50. Not as bad as I'd worried... not as good as I'd like, obviously. Final is still worth 33% of the total grade though. *prays and studies*
I miss Brad and Chris now, I want to play exalted and do stuff... and while B5 is good, it's not the same. My D&D chaaracters are demanding stories, so maybe I'll write a bit here.
Bishojo: Laurel Takashima (aka not-Ivanova)
Bishonen: Sinclair (B5) and Shang (Mulan)
