Gankutsuou Acts 1-4
We started Gankutsuou tonight, brief comments ensue below.
At this point... I'm rather intrigued. Knowing the original story would probably help... at least, that's the feeling that I get.
It's very unlike the things I've been watching recently, in that it is entirely serious. The art is beautiful of course and the voice acting is superb, but I'm having to work harder to get into the plot and characters, which I don't normally have trouble with.
Albert is adorable, but almost too innocent for my taste... but I also don't want anything to happen to him, so I guess I do like him.
Frantz is a putz, but I feel bad for him because he's almost certainly going to lose Albert in all this. Albert is, of course, completely clueless. They're also deliciously slashable, imho.
The Count rocks my socks... but since I still don't know exactly what he's trying to do or why, I can't say exactly how I feel about him yet.
So far, I'm not on the 'best show ever' bandwagon, but I'm going to keep watching, so that's something.
