Cooking with Maya - Take 2
So... as some of you know, I've been watching Bambino!, which has left me wanting to cook pasta dishes /constantly/. The other week, I actually took a trip to the store and made a really tasty dish with pork, mushrooms and zuchini with oregano in red sauce.
The other day at the store, I picked up some more ingredients, so today was Part 2 of my cooking adventures.

The main tip I worked out from my first experiment (that came from Bambino) is to cook the noodles and then combine them with the sauce/ingredients /in/ the skillet for a while. It works really well to get everything mixed and spread the flavors.
Today was Lemon chicken and polenta with buttered noodles and mushrooms.
1) brown pre-marinated chicken (adding the polenta to this part of things might work better than the way I did it)
2) remove chicken and sautee mushrooms and polenta chunks in same pan (I added a little water to let the tiny bit of lemon marinade strech farther) - I used olive oil for this part, but I think butter would have been better, at least for the mushrooms.
3) add chicken with others and finish browning all on med-high heat
4) remove all ingrediants and melt desired amount of butter in pan (the pan will be a little gritty with bits of polenta and sauce, let it be)
5) then pan-fry your cooked noodles for 2-3 minutes, adding other ingredients after 1-2 minutes (I think adding a little bit of a light creme sauce or white wine might be good at this point too)
Results of first try: *** (I'd make it again, with some changes)
